Bhubaneshwar, 02nd June 2025:
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has introduced two new high-quality, colour-coated steel products – Optigal® Prime and Optigal® Pinnacle. These products are part of the globally patented Optigal® range and are now being manufactured in India.

Both products come with long-term warranties – 15 years for Optigal® Prime and 25 years for Optigal® Pinnacle – ensuring strong durability and reliability. These products are designed to meet the growing demand for high-performance steel in India’s fast-developing construction and infrastructure sectors, such as airports, railway stations, highways, and large commercial buildings.

With this launch, AM/NS India becomes the first domestic company to offer premium C4-grade colour-coated steel, previously only available internationally. This move supports the government's vision for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) and strengthens the 'Make in India' mission.

The Indian market for colour-coated steel is growing steadily at 10% every year and is currently around 3.4 million tonnes. AM/NS India aims to capture a 25% share of this market within the next 2–3 years.

Product highlights:

Optigal® Prime: Ideal for cities and moderately corrosive areas, perfect for roofing and cladding. It comes in finishes like SMP, SDP, and PVDF.

Optigal® Pinnacle: Best suited for coastal and industrial zones. It features PU/PA coatings that resist moisture, heat, and UV rays – ideal for marine buildings, warehouses, and large infrastructure projects.

Specialised variants of these products include:

High Gloss, Anti-Dust, Anti-Graffiti, Anti-Static, Anti-Microbial, and Cool Roof – all developed with advanced Zinc-Aluminium-Magnesium technology. This ensures up to 3x better corrosion resistance compared to regular coatings.

The products are also environment-friendly, with low VOC emissions, no harmful metals, and 100% recyclability – making them a sustainable choice for future-ready buildings.

Manufacturing takes place at AM/NS India’s modern facility in Pune, with a current colour-coated steel production capacity of 7 lakh tonnes per year, and plans to increase this to 1 million tonnes soon.

Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice-President – Sales & Marketing at AM/NS India, said:
"With Optigal® Prime and Pinnacle, we are offering world-class steel solutions made in India for India’s growing infrastructure needs. These products reflect our commitment to quality, durability, and innovation for a stronger and smarter future."
