T20 World Cup: West Indies proves too good for England
Sports
Sherfane Rutherford and Jason Holder laid the platform with the bat before the spin duo of Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase sealed the deal as the West Indies notched up its second successive win in the T20 World Cup with a commanding 30-run victory over England at the Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday (February 11, 2026).
Put in to bat, West Indies posted 196 for six, thanks largely to Rutherford’s unbeaten 76 (42b, 2x4, 7x6). His 61-run stand off just 32 deliveries with Holder (33, 17b, 1x4, 4x6) lifted the total.
