Flight carrying 110 Indian students, evacuated from war-torn Iran under Operation Sindhu; lands in Delhi

Students evacuated under Operation Sindhu from war-torn Iran heaved a sigh of relief as they landed in New Delhi and reunited with their families in the early hours of Thursday (June 19, 2025) after close to 52 hours of travel. 

The Indian Government on account of continued conflict between Iran and Israel had evacuated 110 students from Urmia University, Iran and had crossed them over to Yerevan, Armenia on Tuesday, following which they were flown to New Delhi, India. At least 94 students on the flight were from Jammu and Kashmir, while the rest were from the states of Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, to name a few.
