Traffic advisory issued for PM Modi's Bhubaneswar visit on June 20

In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Bhubaneswar on Friday, June 20, the Commissionerate Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety.

PM Modi is set to take part in a public programme at Janata Maidan and a roadshow from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here to the event venue.

The roadshow is expected to cause traffic congestion along Airport Square, Capital Hospital Square, AG Square, Raj Bhawan Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Shastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, XIMB Square, and NALCO Square from 3 PM to 6 PM or till completion of the event.

Commuters have been advised to avoid these routes and plan travel accordingly.

Bus Movement

To manage crowd and traffic flow, specific routes and parking arrangements have been made for buses arriving from various directions:

From Cuttack (NH-16): Buses to take Rasulgarh service road – Vani Vihar – Acharya Vihar – Apollo Hospital – Sainik School.

From Khurda (NH-16): Via Jaydev Vihar service road – Acharya Vihar – Apollo Hospital – Sainik School – NALCO Square – Kalinga Hospital Road. Parking along Railway Colony Golei Chhak to Utkal Hospital and Hatiasuni Chhak.

From Nandankanan: Via NALCO Square – Kalinga Hospital Road with similar parking arrangements as above.

From Puri: Kalpana Square – Raj Mahal – Sishu Bhawan – Capital Hospital Square. Parking from Sishu Bhawan to Capital Hospital.

Parking for bikes, cars, and buses has been arranged at multiple locations across the city, including:

Airport Golei to Pani Tanki

Meteorological Ground

Shastrinagar to Engineering School

Behera Sahi to Nicco Park

Swadhinata Sangrami Ground

Kalinga Stadium

Salia Sahi Jatra Padia

Sainik School

Hatiasuni to Utkal Hospital

JK Paper Lane to Shyama Dham (VIP Parking)

A separate space has also been allocated for media parking near NISER.

Heavy Vehicle Restrictions:

Goods carriers (6 or more wheelers, including trucks and trailers):

From Khurda to Cuttack: Not allowed via Bhubaneswar. Diverted from Pitapalli Square via Chandaka Square.

From Cuttack to Khurda: Diverted from Balikuda Square via Trishulia Square and Pitapalli.

Emergency Services:

The restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire services.

The Commissionerate Police has urged the public to cooperate and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas during the PM’s visit.
