3 dead, 50 injured in pre-dawn stampede at temple in Odisha

At least three people were killed and 50 others were injured in a stampede that broke out at the Gundicha temple in Puri district of Odisha in the early hours of Sunday during the ongoing Rath Yatra festivities, officials said.
The state government ordered the transfer of Puri district collector Sidharth Shankar Swain Swain and SP Vineet Agarwal, along with the suspension of DCP Bishnu Pati and commandant Ajay Padhi over the incident.
